Hello to everyone. I just got the postition of VP of Finance for Panhellenic and there was talk about starting a scholarship to give to new girls that come through formal recruitment in the fall. I was a little concerned though if I should award a girl after she receives her bid and joins a house and she can put that money towards dues and house dues but if I did that, I wouldn't want the to girl to feel as if she should have to stay in the chapter and not be happy (if she wanted to quit) or what. My mom works at National City too and in Cincinnati they are building up so I was going to see if they could sponsor a scholarship through that corporation. Does anybody know of any companies that support a scholarship and if so how to go about contacting them and setting it up? And what opinions do you have on the how to award the new girl as I explained above?

Thanks
Greek ♥

My school has a new member scholarship that goes toward either tuition or books. It's for girls who end up joining a house. They get the application @ New Member Convocation (basically a BIG event with speakers and such just for Panhellenic/IFC new members).

Personally, I feel like a scholarship should go towards either books or tuition instead of dues.
